More Please!

Here is a layout I made with a sketch I found over at GCDStudios Blog. I have had these pictures laying on my dresser for a while and never could decide what to do with them. SO here is what I did!

The stuff is from all over! The green paper is from Bazzill. The patterned paper and die cut stickers are from BasicGrey. The letter stickers (red, turquoise and black) are American Crafts. The green stickers on the ice cream are My LIttle Shoebox. The ribbon is from Stampin’ Up. The chipboard piece is from Cosmo Cricket and the buttons are from the Paper Studio.

Here is a new layout I have been working on! I have loved this picture forever — so now it is in Cray’s book! Love that! It feels so productive to actually add a page to an album! American Crafts is holding a challenge over on there blog to have at least three types of “Thickers” on a layout, so here is mine.

I used orange We R Memory Keepers graph paper, chocolate Bazzill scalloped circle, red Krylon spray paint, the aqua and red polka dot pp is from a Wild Asparagus pad of lots of paper, the “e” on one is a rub-on from memory makers, the rest of the alphas are different foam (Daiquiri & Rootbeer Float) , felt (Pajamas) and chipboard (Gift Box) Thickers from American Crafts, the cardstock journaling sticker is also from American Crafts, the clear “fragments” are Tim Holtz, the thread, rick rack and twine are all just out of my stash from other projects, oh and the doodling and journaling are with Precision Pens from American Crafts black .05 and red .03.

My mom’s design!

So for a while now my mom has been designing this purse! After plenty of trials and a her teaching it to a few classes she is actually going to make it into a pattern and sell it to some quilt shops that have been asking her for it! How exciting!! Well I was the lucky one she asked to be the guinea pig and test out the directions. Here are the results! She did a superb job!! I got through the whole thing and we talked through only a few small changes in wording. She is an amazing quilter/seamstress/crafter and I am so proud of her for taking on this exciting new project! I can’t wait to see what Back Porch Designs comes up with next!

This is the front (with 2 cool zipper pockets!)

This is the back (with three more zipper pockets)!

Before taking off on one of the many cruises my parents have taken, my mom decided she wanted to make something that could be her wallet, but would still be large enough to put things into like a purse. So she created this purse with all of these pockets for her little stuff like her driver’s license and passport, room key and credit card, but she could still drop her phone and camera, map or brochures down into. It also has a spot for your compact and lipstick! They really are cute and practical, and the best part is you can make one in just a few hours!

The cute fabric is from Amy Butler’s new line, and the zippers and thread came from Wal-Mart.

I found a great new company with some really beautiful paper over here! This paper almost makes me thing I need another baby — just so that I can use it! But I think it will be better served on my newest nephew that we are expecting in just a couple of months now! Anyway, they do have a ton of cute paper, some lines that I know are going to work well with my beach pictures and they have some other fun stuff as well! Go over and check them out — you’ll be glad you did!

Monochromatic KWerner!

Here is what she gave us this week! Can you believe it? Black, white and gray — wowzers!

So I made an attempt at a card and then decided to go in search of some black and white photos that really need to be in a book and this is what I came up with! (I know that I have more than one child — and my intent this week was to scrap the boys — I even went Wal-Mart and had some printed — but not any that were black and white — so when I saw the challenge colors I was back to the ones I printed over 2 years ago!! Sorry!)

(the turquoise is just my paint in the kitchen, but the three colors together on a layout could be cool too!)

T-ball tonight!

So I am just dropping in for a quick minute to share a little with you — today was not our most productive Monday ever, (I am hoping for a big day tomorrow!) but we did get some new pictures to scrap with printed at Wal-Mart, we did make supper at home (something out of the latest Paula Deen magazine), and we did go to our first ever T-Ball practice!! I know that we have many of these to come, but it is always fun to start something new. As we walked down the sidewalk to the farthest field from the car, Audrey grabs my hand and says “Mama, I am just SOOO excited about this!” — and that, my friend, is why I’ll be parked on a bleacher peeking through some chain link fence for the next couple of months (and I can’t think of anywhere I’d rather be)!

A friend of mine called this morning and needs a baby girl gift for an upcoming shower! I immediately thought about this challenge and decided these would be the perfect colors for a fitting card! Now we just have to work on the quilt!

I finally scrapped! I haven’t in a while — sewing and baking and everything else have gotten in the way — so after running over to Kristina’s blog and seeing these fun colors I decided to drag out the paper, scissors and glue and get busy! Here is what I came up with!

Just want to credit Elizabeth Kartchner for the inspiration for the layout! She is an amazing scrapper! I used mostly SU supplies: chocolate chip designer series patterned paper, red riding hood designer series patterned paper, old olive textured cardstock, brocade blue cardstock, whisper white cardstock, pumpkin pie 1/4in ribbon, old olive 3/4in ribbon, and 1 1/4 in circle punch; American Crafts: chipboard butterfly, felt flower and thicker “a”; Heidi Swapp: clementine bling circle; random things around the house: orange thread, clear button, red ribbon, and paint chip.

Thanks for looking.
